The unique and popular Lockwood/Trimec ES8000 V-Lock has been

completely redesigned and engineered to produce the new ASSA

ABLOY ES8100 V-Lock

Designed and assembled in Australia, with patents pending in various

countries, the ES8100 incorporates many improvements over its

Lockwood/Trimec predecessor, the ES8000, including a higher pre

load rating of 100kg, Door Position Monitoring, integrated LED lock

status and diagnostics visual indication, increased door misalignment

correction from 7mm to 12mm, an IP53 rating for external door

applications and simple, one-step, PTO/PTL onsite configuration.

Although completely redesigned internally, the new ES8100 V-Lock

body and faceplate retains the original footprint and is a direct retrofit

to the original ES8000 model. The ES8100 strike plate utilises the same

fixing locations but is 3mm wider to increase misalignment distance.

The ES8100, also known as the V-lock, contains a high torque motorised

bolt which moves into a V shaped Strike Plate, pulling the door into

alignment, when locked. The ES8100 may be mounted either vertically

or horizontally but cannot be mounted in the floor.

The ES8100 V-Lock can be mortice mounted and concealed from view

or surface mounted, with the inclusion of an optional kit. A slim design

with classic satin stainless steel faceplate, makes the ES8100 a product

with great aesthetic appearance and easy installation.

Specification Statement

The lock must be a high torque motorised bolt with pre-load tolerance, capable of unlocking with up to

100kg of side pressure (Pre-Load) and Locking up to 35kg Pre-Load. The lock must have a minimum IP

Rating of IP53, include integrated lock status and diagnostics LED indication, lock status and door position

monitoring and be site configurable for Fail Safe (PTL) or Fail Secure (PTO) operation. The lock shall accept

an operating voltage between 11.4 to 26VDC and draw no more than 1000mA during change of state and

35mA when idle.

The strike plate must be shaped in a V format to accommodate up to 12mm (total) for misaligned doors.

The lock must be triggered with a magnet positioned in the strike plate and be monitored for locked,

unlocked and door position.
